What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a form of orthodontic treatment that utilizes clear plastic aligners to gently and precisely straighten teeth. The treatment is an alternative to traditional braces, or for those who have worn braces in the past but whose teeth have shifted with time. Invisalign can correct most common teeth-straightening and bite issues. Besides improving the appearance of your smile, Invisalign can address other issues caused by tooth misalignment such as tooth wear and gum problems.
We capture the form of your teeth and have a series of custom aligners made. The aligners are made of a clear material that is nearly invisible when wearing. The aligners should be worn 22 hours a day, taking them out to eat, drink, floss and brush your teeth.
Over a period of time – which varies with each patient – your teeth will gently realign. Patients will transition through the aligners over the course of treatment with each aligner applying precise pressure to move the teeth into their perfect position.
On average, treatment takes 12-18 months, though it varies with each patient. You’ll notice results within a few weeks though!
